Through the Fruit of the Spirit: Self-Control (Galatians 5:23)

In this sermon, Pastor Ken Cameron talks about the Christian value of self-control.  He explains that self-control is a spiritual power that helps people control their inner urges, rather than just forcing themselves to follow outside rules.  The sermon shows how modern habits, like being addicted to smartphones, can become like modern idols that distract people from loving God. To build true discipline, Pastor Cameron says people need to change their hearts through the Holy Spirit.  Relying only on willpower or setting up strict physical rules is not enough.  The sermon points out three main areas where believers must practice self-control to avoid hurting themselves: their eating habits, their physical desires, and the way they speak. In the end, the sermon describes self-control as an ongoing spiritual training plan.  It requires people to rely on God's strength every day to gain eternal rewards.  By choosing the guidance of the Holy Spirit over selfish desires, believers can live helpful, holy lives that bring honor to God.
